Fruit flies are typically 3-4 mm in size, and are yellow brown to dark brown in color. They’re known quite well for their large red compound eyes. Fruit flies are by far one of the smallest insects we treat for, but in large, one of the biggest nuisances.

MYTH: Fruit flies only lay their eggs on fruit.
FACT: The larvae will feast on any type of yeast found in rotting or liquefying items. Over-ripe fruits and vegetables produce these yeasts as they begin to break down.
MYTH: Using bug-bombs in your home will eliminate all of the fruit flies in the area.
FACT: Bug bombs will kill the adults in the vicinity, but the major issue with the fruit fly is its larva. As these larvae hatch, they mature very quickly meaning that an infestation can wax and wane quickly.
